Oko
about.
An accessibility-focused iOS app designed to help blind and visually impaired users navigate pedestrian crossings more safely in everyday life.

challenge.
Building for real-world, critical use meant the app had to be fast, reliable, and easy to trust under pressure. That required rethinking the iOS architecture for long-term scalability, improving the on-device vision pipeline, reducing battery consumption, and treating accessibility as a core engineering principle from day one — not an afterthought.

result.
Redesigned the app around an 18-module SwiftUI and TCA architecture, improved the CoreML vision pipeline by 10×, reduced battery usage by 30%, and cut the app footprint by 50%. The product received both an Apple Design Award and an App Store Award in 2024.

testimonial.
I never go out without Oko.
